GLOBOSE SPURGE

Euphorbia globosa x obesa

£0.45£4.45

The Eastern Cape Province is home to the charming Euphorbia globosa. This dwarf succulent, from a near distance, appears as an arrangement of green, scaly marbles supported by brown-grey marbles underneath. The top spherical bodies are topped with a stalked crown, from which flowering occurs and to which another marble-like body is added. This results in a fairly spread cluster of balls, and when cultivated, makes a beautiful potted plant. According to the Red List of South African Plants, Euphorbia globosa is assessed as Endangered (EN). It is threatened because of coastal development, which is destroying its habitat. It is a rare species, with a small natural range and is known from less than 5 locations.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

  • Soil: free draining
  • Sun exposure: enjoys some sunlight
  • Watering: The watering method is very important to keep your spurge healthy. It should not sit on the water, and an excess amount of water should be avoided. The best way of watering is the soak and dry method.
  • Hardiness: This succulent prefers a warm climate. So, in the UK it is considered to be an indoor plant.
